Pure tone audiometry measures a person's ability to hear sounds at different pitches (250 Hz to 8000 Hz) and volumes. The patient signals when they hear a tone, and the results are plotted on an audiogram to determine hearing thresholds and the type of hearing loss—conductive, sensorineural, or mixed.

Hearing Aid Repair And Services
An Otoacoustic Emission (OAE) test checks inner ear health by measuring sound waves produced by cochlear hair cells in response to a sound. A probe in the ear canal plays a soft tone or click, and if the cochlea is functioning properly, it emits a faint sound detected by the probe.
